Franchising for Foreign Languages in Russia
Sunday, 25 July 2010 00:00

International networks start appearing up in Russia, but they do it quite slow. Although the Russian market is considered to be the most promising in the world, not everybody has realized the real potential of a franchising network deployed here.

It should be noted here that the ex-Soviet countries' foreign languages schools had always paid more attention to teaching through writing. The language of classical literature was considered the most important, which did not reflect the contemporary state of a particular language. Children in schools spent more time learning the XIXth century language, than a modern English or French. Most of people who terminated a Soviet or Russian school are likely to feel a language barrier which hinders to express ideas in a foreign language. Learning the correct language of the classical literature, they seem to be afraid to say something wrong.

A Russian businessman who learned a language at school or University, upon arrival to a foreign country tries to talk a very precise and immaculate language. In everyday or business life, an Englishman, or a Frenchman or anyone else avoids using mandatory grammar constructions. Whatever methods of different franchising schools for learning foreign languages are, they are all aimed at surpassing language barriers and developing real communicative skills in a foreign language. That might be the main reason for developing franchising schools for learning foreign languages all over Russia.

It should be noted that citizens of the Russian Federation are not accustomed to role-play methods of learning whatever it is. The Russian education, just like the Soviet one, has always been known for its fundamental and diverse character. Learning foreign languages was not paid enough attention. It was unusual for a Russian or Soviet citizen to be able to communicate freely in one or several foreign languages. It was so due to the absence of role-play or communicative forms of teaching.

That is why there is a huge demand for schools for learning foreign languages in Russia. The same time supply is very thin, which means that there is almost no competition on the market. Which, in its turn, means that franchising schools for learning foreign languages is a good business. Taking into account the old truth about demand giving birth to supply, it should be noted: one should better be among the first to enter this market. Because only the first will be able to make some real money, as well as to create public welfare. Business in the Russian Federation will be getting more and more profitable along the development of the very country. While there are unoccupied niches, such as the market of teaching foreign languages, businesslike people should take advantage of those.
