Brazil has excellent economic development opportunities. As the world’s 5th largest country in terms of population, and the 8th biggest economy, Brazil holds 6th place in the worldwide franchise market.
With a growth rate of 7.5% that breaks down into 68.4% for services, 25.4% for industry and 6.1% for agriculture, Brazil has recently seen an increase in the number of franchises opening within its borders. The number of networks grew by over 83% between 2006 and 2010. Brazil now has some 1,855 franchise networks and 86,365 franchised shops throughout the country. This rise is due in particular to the increase in shopping centres, 70% of which are occupied by franchises. Food, accessories, shoes, clothing, furnishings and decoration are just some of the sectors developing via franchising in this South American country. |
